The Road To Charlotte

On July 4, 1994 Kent Jones and Angelique Lewis were joined in holy matrimony on the luscious island of St. Lucia on a beautiful summer’s day kissed by a warm Caribbean breeze. Our joining coming after a 5 year engagement during which time I served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.

My wife Angelique is from Trinidad and Tobago and I was born in Albany Georgia. My father's family is from Georgia and my mother's family from St. Lucia. Angelique's family (both sides) is from Trinidad and Tobago with some roots in Venezuela. As you can see, we have a nice ethnic mix-up going on.

After our wedding, we moved to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania where we lived for a few years then moved a few miles down the road to Audubon where we purchased our first home and welcomed our son, Kendall, into the world.

In 2003, my company relocated us to Charlotte, North Carolina where we currently live. Actually our mail address says Huntersville which is in Mecklenberg county while we actually live in Cabarrus (great for taxes for now).

In 2005, Cortlyn came onto the scene closing out our family unit. It is safe to say that we have laid deep roots in the Charlotte metro area and now consider this our permanent homestead. No one can know what life will bring but our family truly loves living here and has no plans of ever moving away. Of course we said the same thing when we move to Audubon, but hopefully (Lord willing) it will hold true this time.

Charlotte is truly a place where we feel at home.
